On the use of climate models for estimating the non-stationary characteristic values of climatic actions in civil engineering practice

The characteristic values of climatic actions in current structural design codes are based on a specified probability exceedance during the working life structure. These traditionally determined from past observation data under stationary climate assumption. However, this assumption becomes invalid context change, where frequency and intensity extremes varies with respect to time. This paper presents methodology calculate non-stationary using state art model projections. calculated compliance requirements by forming quasi-stationary windows entire bias-corrected data. Three approaches for calculation considering structure compared their consequences discussed.
